wrapping this Subaru WRX mirror cap is relevant to my situation....adding mirror turns to a base WRX and the new mirror caps are unpainted. I couldn't decide whether to wrap the cap with a satin nickel or spray paint. Both methods seem 'easy' enough.

how would you compare this to tinybot 6d as far as looking like real CF? i wrapped the center console of my model 3 in tinybot, and while it definitely looks nicer than the piano black oem, im kinda starting to hate how it looks obviously not real and considering a $150 real cf overlay.

What was the company you got this carbon wrap from again

Your job turned out great! I wrapped my interior with VViViD XPO Red 3D Carbon Fiber a while back. Even with my extremely dark window tint and not being in direct sunlight it got sun bleached in months and started to look an orange pink. Did not hold up well to sun exposure at all. In your experience does this wrap hold up better to UV over time? Thanks!

Does this protect against physical damage and dirt only or is it also help protect against UV damage as well?

So is this film that much easier to work with or do you just make it look easy? I wrapped my car in Vivid Matte mustard yellow and that stuff was thick.

They all look terrible. Reaffirming me why nobody really uses this stuff. I’ve seen amateurs use cheap paint and then clear coat and buffing it and it looks more pro then any of these. Geez.

quick tip, Christian , i'm probably an idiot for saying, but it works for me, i use a damp rag to wipe the panel with before laying it, then i get no bubbles stuck, glides right out

After removing the wrap on my roof I noticed yellow (almost neon yellow) and pinkish spots in the middle of the roof where the wrap had faded and was starting to bake. (bought the car like this. Been restoring her for 8 months now) Any idea what those spots could be? My guess would be that the yellow is adhesive. But isopropyl aint doing shiit. The surface is as smooth as the top of my grandfather's head, where once his perfect blonde hair grew. Everyone called him "tv-hair". Anywho, surface smooth, me just wrap roof in gloss black again I guess. Or I might actually just paint the roof. It's a value thing, because my fear is that the paint is actually damaged. So a respray would make more sense. Otherwise I am just covering up damaged paint. (Which you have to let a potential buyer know to prevent potential legal issues, at least where I live.)

You mentioned this material is for interior only, what do you recommend for exterior to wrap a bumper lip or chrome trim?

I just noticed the roll of this material is only 20y and there is no option to buy by yard, so if I'd miss one yard or so I have to get the whole roll for another $1600?

When you mist your just using water correct? I ask because I've alsonseen ppl use water with baby shampoo to make the tint movable then use a tact solution to hold it still when your stretching. My tint I'm going to use for my headlights & taillights (porsche cayenne S 2016) recommends using water just likebyour method.

What about wrapping the entire trunk with the duckbill on as one piece? Would that make sense to do it, or would it be super challenging?

So how do I avoid stretching it to the edge? Did don’t understand how the side pressure will stop it from rolling back

He doesn't seem like a good tutor to work with.. way too worked up and bossy for simple explanations. He could talk and explain a lot less hyperactive without treating him like a child as well.. this stresses me out just listening to him.
